"Do" Versus "Surrender"

It’s not about your ability to DO, it's about your ability to SURRENDER. Oftentimes in life, situations arise and our immediate reaction is what can we do? What steps can we take? How can we fix the problem? When we truly surrender our lives to God, what is there to worry about? If you truly understand the meaning of “your life is in God’s hand”, what is there to stress about? Speaking from my own experiences, I know how easy it can be to just jump right into “let me do” instead of “let me trust God”. The fear of the unknown starts to creep in and having the patience to sit back and watch God work can seem unbearable but WAIT…BREATHE…AND LISTEN. The question I find myself asking is “what do I have to lose?” When everything in your life seems to be spinning out of control and no matter what you do to try to tame it, it gets worse. So ask yourself, what can you possibly lose when you place each and every trouble, worry, and fearful thought into God’s hands? Philippians 4:6-7 says “Do not be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Matthew 11:28-30 says “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Beloved, be not consumed with worry and anxiety. Jesus says in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you' my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Always look up, Lily Williams
