In his Shadow

I never thought about the word Shadow and how it is formed until the month of June 2015.

I enjoyed watching little children trying to figure out what a Shadow is and trying to touch it or feel it and at the end of their curiosity, they either get excited about it or they become afraid. I have seen a little child who tried to run away from their own Shadow but that Shadow kept following the Child and never give up.

When I think of the Shadow of God, I think huge covering, a shield, under his shadow I can hide from the sun, I can trust that there's someone right beside me. Thinking of how big our God is, All his Children can rest under his Shadow and there will be enough room left.

In order for a Shadow to form it needs two things-A sources of Light and an Object to block the light. When the light is blocked, it forms a Shadow darker than the actual object.

I am going to focus on the dimension of the Shadow and our relationship with God. See, as an object moves further away from the source of light, it becomes smaller and as an object moves closer to the light source, it becomes larger.

On the contrary, Jesus is a believer's Light and he said in John 8:12-. I am the Light...See the closer you draw near to God the more you are under his Shadow and the further away you are, the less you are under his Shadow.

Maybe you are wondering, how can I be under the Lord's Shadow? Read the word of God, Get the Bible App, Read a verse Daily, and Say a prayer when you arise and before you sleep at night.

Under His Shadows you will find refuge, you will be protected from the snare of the Fowler, you will rest knowing that the Lord watches over you, and you will not fear the terror of the night nor the destruction that lays at noonday.

There are so many scriptures in the Bible that speaks about the Shadow of God almighty.

Here are a few scriptural references to meditating on:

Psalm 91:1 - He who dwells in the secret place of the highest shall abide under the Shadow of the almighty.

Psalm 36:7 - How precious is your loving kindness, oh God! And the children of men take refuge in the Shadow of your wings.

Psalm 17:8 - Keep me as the apple of the eye; hide me in the Shadow of your wings.

Psalm 63:7 - For you have been my help, and in the Shadow of your wings, i will sing for Joy.

Yeah though I walk through the valley of the Shadow of death I will fear no evil.

God Bless You and keep you under his Shadow,

Josephine Bolay
